Self-Adhesive Electrodes are not only inexpensive, but require almost no preparation for use. While adhesive electrodes will wear out over time, purchasing extra electrodes will ensure you will always have pair of fresh new electrodes on hand when the old ones need to be replaced. If you’re interested in stocking up, we also sell a bulk 3 pack of Self-Adhesive Electrodes for a discounted price. While these types of electrodes are convenient, it’s important to know that they can only be used on bare skin, with little to no hair underneath them. Self-Adhesive Electrodes for tDCS require a clean surface and secure contact to be most effective. Usually a headband or other fastening material is used to ensure that the entire pad is making contact with the targeted area. Additionally, headbands allow these electrodes to be used even after they start to loose their self-adhesive properties. However, it is important to note that self-adhesive electrodes are not recommended for current ranges above 1.5mA. At these higher current ranges, sponges are often more effective electrodes for tDCS.
